Resourcing the Next Generation

The origins NextGen Ventures date back to 1933 when the first generation founder opened his first auto garage in Kansas City, MO. During the Oklahoma Land Rush of the late 1800s their family moved from Texas to Durant, OK where they attempted to feed their 10 children by farming their new land. Once his brothers were old enough to help out on the able to take his place on the farm, he quit high school and started welding on the Panhandle Eastern Pipeline, which stretched from parts of Oklahoma to Illinois. During those long days welding, he saw opportunities to build motor oil recycling plants along the way, later launching retail distributions for the motor oil. Over eight decades and four generations later, 12 different operating businesses were created across energy, retail, retail, real estate, and software sectors.
